I am 24 years, male, live at new delhi, India. My hair loss started after i straightened my hair (i regret it till now). Suffering hair loss since 5 years. Initially lost temples and crown is thinning. Very depressing situation. Consulted a doctor and on medication some vitamins supplements and foltene, kairfall and bontrex lotion to apply. My hair loss stop by applying these but when i leave it starts again. I want to have my thick and full head of hair again. Can you recommend anything?

Hair loss due to chemical straightening is not uncommon because either the chemicals are left on the hair for too long or the treatments are performed too often.

However, sometimes this issue coincides with the beginnings of normal male patterned hair loss so the two problems can be interchanged and the underlying cause of the loss may be misinterpreted.

Regardless, your problem can be addressed in two ways…

FDA-Approved medications…

The vitamin supplements that you are taking are most likely only moderately helpful at best and they certainly are not a cure as evidenced by your hair loss starting again once you stop taking the vitamins. Unfortunately no medication can permanently halt your hair loss with only temporary use because if any medication could do this then it would be considered to be a cure.

I have found that while vitamin supplements can help make hair stronger overall they are not nearly as effective as proper hair loss medications such as Rogaine and Propecia for men. In India you can find Propecia under the name “Finpecia”. This is the single most effective medication you can take to not only stop your hair loss but to potentially reverse it to at least a small degree.

You must take Finpecia and/or Rogaine consistently or the effectiveness will diminish and disappear because, as I mentioned above, these are treatments only. The cure in medicinal form is still elusive.

Surgical hair restoration…
